I want to recognize Dan Price, CEO of Gravity Payments for showing common sense and empathy to prove you can create profits while also doing the right thing for your employees.
In 2015, his compensation was 33x more than their lowest-paid employee. He reduced his own compensation and re-allocated this meaningful capital to his employee base. There is now only a 4x difference between the top executive and the lowest-paid employee salary.
That is responsible leadership that has also led to a substantial increase in company revenues.
There will always be a small percentage of people who milk the system, but I believe that the majority of employees will give you an honest day’s work if you treat them with dignity and respect while providing them enough resources to raise a family.
