Real World Perspectives of Employment Numbers

By Brian DeLucia

We continue to hear how amazing the economy is doing.

It is doing well for a small amount of people, but the majority of people I communicate with are struggling.  The average American worker who is working 40 works a week does not earn a wage that covers normal living expenses today to support a family.

This is troubling.

We see sharp increases in credit card debt.  Many Americans are saddled with student loans that I believe will create massive defaults in the coming years ahead.

There are tons of Americans out of the workforce, skewing the real unemployment numbers significantly.  Many have given up hope of meaningful employment or are too depressed to put up the energy required to break from the pact.

Many things for us to think about.
